CHAIRS (ITALY)  | 2011

This project looks at a town in Italy through the chairs found in its public and working spaces.

I admit to having a thing about chairs. In this series there were two things that I found interesting: firstly, how it's possible to understand something about a community without seeing the actual people. So in a way, the chairs become the people. And secondly, how seemingly banal photographs will take on new meaning and value as time passes. In the future these images will reveal, through their details, things about the technology, taste and social relations of the period.

I like that idea.
